Step 1:
A) Go to the icon on your desktop labeled "My Computer" and double click it.

B) Double click the "Dial-Up Networking" icon
|

C) Double click on the icon called "Make New Connection".
|

Step 2:
The default name for the the connection is 'my connection' Rename it to be "Nantucket.net" or any name you would like.
The 'Select a device' field should not be changed.
Click "Next" at the bottom.

Enter the Access Number for your town: (if you don't know the number, visit our Access Numbers page.)
For example - If you live on Nantucket, the available numbers are:
508-228-4317
508-325-8800
508-680-3050
You may be prompted to enter the area code as well.
When you have finished that section, click "Next".

On the final screen, click "Finish".
You have set up your connection to the Internet!
Now let's connect!

Step 3:
Your new connection should appear in the "Dial-up Networking" folder along with "Make New Connection".
Use the right mouse button and click once on "Nantucket.net". A pop-up menu will appear.
Use the left mouse button to click on "Properties".

Step 4:
Click on the 'General Tab' There is a checkbox that is called "Use area code and Dialing Properties". This box should be unchecked.

Click the "Server Types" tab.
The following items should be unchecked:
Log onto Network
NetBEUI
IPX/SPX
The following items should be checked:
TCP/IP
Enable Software

Step 5:
Fill in your username and password in the appropriate boxes. Keep in mind that your username and password are all lower case with no spaces.
Your username is your primary email address, for example: username@nantucket.net
Click the Save password box if you want to connect without having to input your password.
Make sure you're phone line is free and click "Connect".

You're finished! Now, whenever you want to connect to the internet, just double click your Internet Explorer icon and you will connect automatically.
