Green grass, shining boat masts, fragrant flowers, and colorful art -- Spring on Nantucket! The Artists Association of Nantucket (AAN) is pleased to invite the public to its first 2012 Sidewalk Art Show on Saturday, May 26, 10:00 am to 3:00 pm in the garden of the Nantucket Atheneum, India Street. More than twenty of AAN's artist members will be available to discuss art and sell their works. The outdoor art show is free and open to the public.

Random ACKs of Kindness
In celebration of Daffodil Weekend, Nantucket Airlines will be giving away 25 round-trip tickets for travel between Hyannis and Nantucket. To qualify to receive a complimentary ticket, individuals will have to be spotted over the course of Daffy Weekend doing a "Random ACK of Kindness." Nantucket Airlines employees, led by Kim Corkran, will be on hand at all the Daffodil events, and will be on the lookout for good deeds being done. Spring Is in the Air
Just in time for Daffodil Weekend, the Artists Association of Nantucket (AAN) is pleased to announce a Spring Is In the Air exhibition, which will open with a festive reception on Friday, April 27, from 5 to 7 pm in the Joyce & Seward Johnson Gallery, 19 Washington Street. This exhibition will also feature work on the second floor by students from the Nantucket Elementary School, Nantucket New School, and Nantucket Lighthouse School. Both exhibitions will be open to the public April 27 to May 13. The opening reception for the student show is Thursday, April 26, from 3 to 6 pm.

Outstanding Boston-based Duo To Open 2012 Spring Concert Series
The 2012 Nantucket Arts Council Spring Concert Series begins on Sunday, March 11 at 4 p.m. at the Coffin School, 4 Winter Street, with the acclaimed L'Etoile Duo in a program of Spanish influenced music. Boston-based concert violinists and experienced chamber musicians, Hsin-Lin Tsai and Miguel Perez-Espejo Cardenas will present a program "Duo Violins & Piano with a Spanish Flair." They will be accompanied by pianist Joy Cline Phinney who performs extensively in the Boston area with members of the Boston Symphony Orchestra.

Sketching at the Museum
Artists Association of Nantucket (AAN) and Nantucket Historical Association (NHA) are offering a series of sketching classes in March at the Whaling Museum, 15 Broad Street. Well-regarded art teachers, Rob Head and Anne Sutherland will each teach two classes.

Nantucket Atheneum Is Going Green
The Atheneum is undertaking a new project which will make our building more energy efficient, cost effective and comfortable for patrons and materials.
